Pacific Arts Dance Center! Merging of two talented studios!

The exciting announcement about our new home this fall has been released! Del Mar Ballet's new home, along with Royal Academy of the Performing Arts, will merge together at the brand new MergeCV complex located on the corner of Carmel Mountain and Carmel Country Roads, right in the heart of Carmel Valley with easy access to both 56 and I-5.

We have most of the top floor with wonderful views and a huge balcony that converts to an amazing performance venue. It is a gorgeous space! A new restaurant is coming in soon along with a coffee shop, hair and nail salon along with other services. They are very excited to have us there!

Since early this year we have been dealing with the zoning issues that we now know was triggered by one of our competitors and greatly affected not only Del Mar Ballet but also Royal Academy of Performing Arts and Inspired Movement. Through all of the ups and downs of the roller coaster that has been going on behind the scenes, we have charted an entirely new course with a new location beyond our wildest dreams. A location where our artistic vision can truly shine and where we will find a new and lasting home. We are very excited about our new location and are sure you will love it but that is not the only thing we have to announce.

The toughest of times can bring out the greatest light in people and shine on new opportunities that would have never otherwise been discovered. It has been an incredibly tough time for all of us over the past few months. There is nothing like an attempted annihilation of our work and artistic expression to really show what can be accomplished when we all come together and support each other.

Long time friends and supporters have been by our side the whole way and wonderful new people have showed up in our lives and for our company to help us achieve this goal. A new partnership has emerged through the trials and tribulations over the past few months and we are incredibly excited to announce that Del Mar Ballet and Royal Academy of Performing Arts are joining forces to become an unstoppable dance enterprise like no other in the San Diego area!

Del Mar Ballet's performing and artistic focus combined with RAPA's expansive class options in our wonderful new location will provide an unparalleled dance and performing arts training environment. This coming together of studios with the foundation of Integrity and Community as PacificArts Dance Center at the MergeCV will be the premier dance enterprise for not only San Diego but also Louisiana and beyond.

This expansion does come with some changes. There will be more students and additional programs besides our ballet core. We are changing the studio name to Pacific Arts Dance Center to more closely reflect our expanded vision of a comprehensive performing arts academy and as a new start to the coming together of both Del Mar Ballet and RAPA. As a larger studio we will be able to offer more class options and bring in our wonderful guest artists even more. There will be a big return of The Nutcracker this year with auditions at the beginning of the fall season and many more performing opportunities to come.

We look forward to joining you for this exciting new season and the coming together of our communities.

We have much to look forward to as we release the new PADC fall schedule this week! Schedule comes out this Monday, July 17th and Fall Registration beginning this Friday, July 21st!.

Testimonials: "Unlike many ballet schools in the Carmel Valley area, DMB is a serious studio without all the unnecessary fluff. What I admire about DMB is that art and learning come first...."

Read all DMB's 18+ 5-STAR Reviews on Yelp and Facebook!

  • "This pre-professional ballet studio is rooted in exceptional instruction!!!  They encourage and inspire dancers to strive for excellence with passion and creativity.  The focus is performance based rather than competition.  This is what we were looking for!  The young dancers learn proper technique while having fun with fantastic role models found in teachers and the older dancers.  Our daughter loves working with the little ones and she continues to blossom at Del Mar Ballet.  We are very grateful for this lovely space that our daughter is able to flourish.  We are investing in so much more than dance!!!" K.H.

  • "This is a wonderful studio with a challenging and welcoming community for adults. I've taken classes with Marie, Robyn, and Jenny and they are all superb, encouraging and passionate teachers. As Artistic Director, Marie is constantly keeping us refreshed with new teachers for the Masters Classes to continue our discovery of the capabilities of our bodies.  I've been with the studio since 2011 and it has grown every year to keep me engaged and fascinated with dance. I feel so lucky to be part of this community of lovely teachers, inspirational professionals we can practice along side and the most warm and inviting peers to spend time with. So much love and appreciation for this gem!" C.P.

  • "Unlike many ballet schools in the Carmel Valley area, DMB is a serious studio without all the unnecessary fluff.   What I admire about DMB is that art and learning come first.  Dancers shine plenty without the need for outrageously priced costumes and makeup.  Glitz and glamour do not become the focal point of their shows.  Instead, Marie, Jenny and Amanda emphasize personal development tailored to each individual.  For example, students are encouraged to express their creativity through improvisation exercises, while at the same time, ensuring that proper technique is taught.  Older students have the opportunity to choreograph showcase pieces for performances.  Grace and beauty come from within which is the real lesson here, and DMB does a fine job of it" L.T.

  • “To see so many of DMB's senior students head in the direction of professional dance careers is a true mark of the excellent instructors on staff.” S.D.

  • "Marie Arts and her staff are outstanding. I'm taking adult classes without much experience and later in life. Other students are much more advanced and some are at professional level. Group is so embracing and Marie and all the teachers are stoping to help and demonstrate proper technique. They dedicate attention to all the students regardless of level or ability. I'm looking forward to attend the class after a long day at work. Prices are excellent and I love that I can purchase 10 class block that doesn't expire. There is no need to sign up or pay monthly fee for adult classes. Thank you Marie, Jenny and Robin for your dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm" B.V.
